The DTI Roll On Connector forms a sealed joint between the inside of the coiled tubing and the CT tool string or, if using a double roll-on connector, another line of coiled tubing. The connector is made up by pushing the end of the connector into the prepared coiled tuning and then forming the coiled tubing, using a modified pipe cutter, into the grooves of the roll-on connector.
Although not the strongest or full bore, this is a useful, cost effective, disposable connector that is quick and simple to attach. Often used for wash tool strings and where the BHA outside diameter needs to be the same OD as the coiled tubing.
