External Slip Connector
FUNCTIONALITY
DEPLOYMENT
SECTORS
The DTI Coiled Tubing External Slip Connector forms a full bore sealed joint between the outside of the coiled tubing and the CT Tool string. At the lower end of the DTI Coiled Tubing External Slip Connector, a specific male thread enables connection to the CT Tool string.
When the DTI Coiled Tubing External Slip Connector is made up to the prepared CT, the tapered Slip Ring with internal teeth bite onto the coiled tubing. As the CT is pulled, the Slips pull up into a tapered bowl and grip the tubing in a ‘wedging’ action resulting in increased grip as the CT tension increases.
Features
& Benefits
- Slips bite into the coiled tubing.
- Compact
- Double Viton O-Ring seals.
- No special tooling required.
- Pull testing caused the slips to bite harder into the coiled tubing making it a strong and reliable connection.
