The DTI Venturi Junk Basket is a coiled tubing wash tool used to retrieve junk and debris out of the well bore.
Circulating flow though the venturi nozzles create a partial vacuum in the well tubing immediately below the tool. This causes a a suction effect which draws debris up into the venturi junk basket. Inside the tool a metal filter screen, magnets and a flapper junk shoe retain debris in place once the pumping stops so the debris can be securely removed from the well with the BHA.
Alternate circulating choke sizes are available to optimise the suction effect for a given flow rate. Extension tubes are also available to maximise the volume of debris that can be recovered in a single trip. DTI can provide a calculator to help optimise the efficiency of the tool.
